For almost 70 years, Damelin has been rewarding students with financial assistance, and this sponsorship is in line with its mission to equip South African students with quality private education and training.

Guest of honour at the event, Cllr Logie Naidoo hailed the 12 talented contestants as future role models for teenagers and young adults. He also thanked organisations such as Damelin for partnering in this initiative, and for educating the future generation. Organiser and CEO of the Miss Teen India SA event, Ms Sharon Maharaj congratulated the winner and commented: "Our winner embodies beauty and poise, and will instil strong leadership qualities in today's youth". Ms Maharaj also commended Damelin and the other sponsors for their valuable contribution to youth upliftment.

The pageant was extended to local beauties across the country, between the ages of 15-19 years old. The contestants went through a rigorous series of competitions prior to the event, culminating in four live segments on the night: An Eastern and Western dress, a talent act and a question and answer section, led by a panel of five judges. Miss Narayan impressed judges with a well-choreographed dance sequence and her confidence during the Q & A segment.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Educor, the parent company of Damelin, Louise Nair, views the gala as an opportune time to integrate beauty with academia. "We believe that offering scholarships to study at an institution of quality will add value to the winners' lives and will empower these young women to aspire to their dream careers," said Ms Nair.

The bursaries will help contribute to better opportunities for students, as the Damelin curriculum is strategically designed to address the skill set of individuals and steer them towards a capable workforce that supports endless possibilities in our country.

Among her many duties as Miss Teen India SA, Miss Narayan will have the opportunity to be Damelin's Brand Ambassador for the year, modelling to young teenagers the importance of good values and working hard to achieve your dreams, which echoes the Damelin vision to Live, Love, Learn and Leave a Legacy.
