Lucky Moeketsi made the decision to be focussed and disciplined with his studies at CityVarsity. He believes that over the past three years, everything he has learnt has made him a greater performer than when he first started his studies. He is confident that the knowledge he got at the college will be enough to sustain and make him stand out from the rest in the industry.
In addition, he said the information he gathered during the course of his BA Degree in Drama studies went beyond his expectation. All his subjects and the practical work prepared him to write his own story through his craft.
“I see myself as a professional and disciplined artist/performer, director, writer and choreographer," said Lucky.
He got into acting because he has always loved telling stories and being creative in his style. He sees himself as a professional performer who can tell stories in many different ways. The classes that have made him grow immensely as a student at CityVarsity are acting for camera, movement, life performance, writing, performance studies and drama history. Just to name a few.
“As an artist, every day is a chance for growth. My subjects bring me a step closer to perfecting my craft,” said Lucky.
Lucky’s journey with CityVarsity has been amazing. For people who are hungry and are focussed only on their art and everything creative, it is the place to be. It is where artists are groomed to be the best.
To current students that are still pursuing their passion, he said nothing beats focus, discipline and respect for your craft. Respecting not only what you do but also the institution that is making it possible for you to study what you are passionate about is crucial. Students get into the habit of ignoring college rules and just living on their own terms, this is not a wise thing to do.
“If you do not have respect for other people or anything in life, you don’t grow simply because you cannot take in other peoples advice,” said Lucky.
CityVarsity is all about creatively training students so that they have in-depth knowledge of the fields they are passionate about. To find out more visit www.cityvarsity.co.za.
