General Manager of CityVarsity Braamfontein, Zenzele Zungu, congratulating the winner of the Mini Cooper, first year Sound Engineering student, Mandisa Vilakazi.
click to enlargeDubbed as their biggest campaign yet, which launched last November, CityVarsity gave residents of Johannesburg and potential students the opportunity to win in two ways. Either walk in and enter, and receive one entry; or walk in, enter, register as a student and receive 10 additional chances to win the car.
As part of the audit process, and for CityVarsity to ensure transparency and fairness, the draw was conducted in front of a live audience; including the entrants, their friends, family, students and press. The entrants' names featured in a clear entry box. One entry form was then picked out by a random individual in the crowd who did not enter the competition, which declared Mandisa as the winner of the over R300,000 vehicle.
General Manager of CityVarsity Braamfontein, Zenzele Zungu, said "Firstly I would like to congratulate Mandisa on winning the car. It was such a wonderful surprise when she had confirmed that she was a CityVarsity student. The competition proved to be a complete success, with hundreds of entrants, both prospective and newly registered students entering to bag their chance of owning the MINI Cooper. CityVarsity will continue to strive to invest in the lives of the youth, empowering them to prosper. "
The ecstatic first year sound engineering student said that winning came as a total surprise. "I was absolutely shocked when I heard my name called out. I wish to thank my campus, CityVarsity, for this life changing opportunity. I can proudly say that through CityVarsity I am now the owner of a brand new MINI Cooper," said Mandisa.
