According to a report on BBC, 'authorities and militants have taken the Nairobi battle to Twitter'. Apart from informing the public about what's going on, Twitter have also been used to rally Kenyans to support victims.

Kenyan police and security officials have reportedly been using Twitter to make announcements and to keep the public updated.
It appears that Kenyans are also using Twitter to show their support 'for the operation against the militants' and are showing 'feelings of solidarity in a time of crisis'. The social media platform is said to be very useful in helping to organise initiatives to support the victims.
