MTN Group appoints senior executives at three operating companies and Group
MTN has named new CEOs for its operations in Cameroon, Rwanda and Uganda, effective 1 September.
MTN also created a new senior MTN Group post: operations executive for Liberia, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau and Congo-Brazzaville, effective 1 August
Mitwa Ng'ambi has been named MTN Cameroon CEO, succeeding Stephen Blewett, who is leaving the group. MTN South Africa's chief consumer officer Mapula Bodibe will lead MTN Rwanda.
Mapula Bodibe, chief consumer officer for MTN South Africa, will join MTN Rwanda, bringing with her more than 15 years of MTN experience, including in Uganda.
MTN Uganda has appointed Sylvia Mulinge as its CEO. She comes from Safaricom where she served as director of consumer business.
Wim Vanhelleputte will become MTN Group's operations executive: markets, where he will promote financial inclusion and expand MTN's market leadership.
