Dr Iqbal Survé joins BRNN's first council
The Belt and Road News Network (BRNN) has added Independent Media executive chairperson Dr Iqbal Survé to its first council. The appointment was announced at a gathering of world media leaders in Beijing, China.
Survé was the only South African to be invited to serve on the first council, which represents 26 countries and 39 media organisations. The BRNN media event in China promotes practical cooperation among media from different countries.
Survé was commended for his role as the co-chairperson of the Brics Media Forum and his appointment to the first council builds on this chairpersonship. He will also be participating in a panel discussion at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation with the theme "Shared Benefits: BRI and Global Economy with Inclusive, Win-Win Benefits."
