Launching limited edition Viognier
Fleur du Cap, one of South Africa's finest producers of Viognier, having scooped the International Viognier Trophy for its 2006 vintage at London's International Wine Challenge, has released another rich, full-bodied frontrunner. The Limited Release 2007 Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Viognier is a generous wine with an excellent balance between abundant fruit and wood flavours. Made with minimal intervention in the cellar of grapes from a single vineyard in the Stellenbosch area by estate winemaker Pieter Badenhorst, this wine owes its vanilla puffs and balanced wood integration to the nine months spent in third-fill French oak barrels. It retails at around R100 at leading wine shops.
