Adelle Onyango named mentor for Obama initiative
The initiative was launched last year by US President Barack Obama in four regional leadership centres namely Kenya, Senegal, Ghana and South Africa with the aim of mentoring and inspiring youth to take up leadership roles.
Starting July 20, the East African region centre located in Nairobi is scheduled to embark on improving the availability and quality of leadership training programmes and professional development opportunities for young East African leaders.
Adelle, who has been instrumental in mentoring the youth through her own initiative titled Project SHE, will join other appointed young African leaders in the campaign.
"I am very happy to be one of the mentors appointed by Yali to represent the East African region. I am excited to meet the team and look forward to conversations that will improve leadership and development programmes in East Africa."
The bubbly presenter is currently one of the goodwill ambassadors of the ongoing Ficha Uchi school campaign in slums and peri-urban areas in Kenya.
