    • BBC: Authorities and militants take Nairobi battle to Twitter... Jastinder Khera, reporting on BBC, says that Al-Shabab fighters as well as Kenyan authorities 'have been trying to broadcast their messages about the attack on social media.' Kenyan police and security officials have reportedly been using Twitter to make announcements and to keep the public updated.

It appears that Kenyans are also using Twitter to show their support 'for the operation against the militants' and are showing 'feelings of solidarity in a time of crisis'. The social media platform is said to be very useful in helping to organise initiatives to support the victims.
