Wamai holds an MBA from the University of Warwick Business School and a Bachelor's degree in education from Kenyatta University. Prior to joining Y&R she worked at the Nation Media Group for 12 years, eight of which were in advertising and circulation and the rest in general management.
AY&R Group became the African HQ for global communications network, Young & Rubicam Brands in January 2007. From Nairobi it now manages operations in 29 countries in Africa and the Indian Ocean. In Kenya, the group operates five specialist business divisions; Y&R Nairobi: advertising, Wunderman: direct marketing, Silver Bullet: public relations and eventing, Mediaedge:cia: media investment and The Brand Business: strategic consultancy.
